We had our Finnish war history collection, the "Essex Collection" displayed at the Suomi Talo,
Price of Freedom Museum on Sunday 2/3 and took some pictures of Yrjö Keskitalo.
He is a Finnish war veteran who stopped by like many others to see the display.
As you know there are not many war vets left, especially folks that are sharp in mind and up
and around like this gentleman. He was in the Finnish army as a private in the infantry
from the start of the Winter war 1939 through the Continuation War until 1944.
During that time he considered himself very luck to have survived with only shrapnel wounds to his legs.
He explained to us that he was armed with a konepistooli during his entire service and he picked out
the German m17 helmet that he was issued.
